Dr. Felicia Murray

Faculty Advisor

This is my fourth year as a member of the faculty here at Tarleton State University. I began teaching at the college-level in 2000 and absolutely love engaging with students especially social work students. My current research interests include determinants of parenting, father engagement and involvement, qualitative research methodology, student engagement, and outcomes for former foster youth.
Prior to making Texas my home, I worked a number of years in public child welfare as a foster family agency social worker and then as a dependency investigator and neighborhood services worker for Children’s Protective Services (CPS) in California. I am also a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in both Texas and California.
I have two teenagers, a magnificent husband, and a furry baby named Pixie. For self-care, I love to exercise, take walks with my dog, karaoke, and travel (hopefully I can get back to that when it is safer).  I identify as a Black cis-gendered woman.  My pronouns are she/her/hers.
